Program Details

• Who can play: Adult players of all genders; participation is primarily women.

• Format: 7v7 on a reduced field, with no goalies.
• Rules: Short-field play using outdoor field hockey rules.
• Game length: Two 25-minute running-time halves.

Is Intermediate Right for You?

This league is more competitive than our recreational offering, with a faster pace and greater emphasis on positioning, quick passing, and coordinated team play. Players should have a working understanding of field hockey rules and be comfortable applying their skills under pressure.

What to Expect

Expect an active game where communication, movement off the ball, and teamwork matter. The reduced field keeps players involved and creates frequent opportunities to transition between offense and defense.

Competitive play and good sportsmanship go together. Respect teammates, opponents, and the official, maintain control of your stick, and play safely. Dangerous play, discriminatory behavior, and poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.

What to Wear and Bring

• Field hockey stick: Bring your stick for play.
• Shin guards and mouth guard: Both are required for all players.
• Footwear: Turf shoes are recommended, but any clean athletic shoe is acceptable.
• Athletic attire: Wear clothing suitable for running and playing.
• Water: Bring a water bottle.
